Tafkan's works are painted with large, thick solids, pixelating the faces without diminishing the vision and volume of the skin.

His works give his portraits a new artistic look.

This constraint of minimalist flat tints imposes a stylization within an aesthetic research where each stroke of the knife has its importance.

Beyond the representation of appearance, Tafkan's pictorial approach responds to his desire to transcribe the character, his way of being and above all reveals the image that the artist has of the subject.

Member of the Taylor Foundation, the artist has been awarded the European Artistic Merit Medal.
